Fast food chains are responding to the demand with menus that include more fruit and vegetables, smaller portions and even vegetarian options. Their marketing campaigns are well funded and designed to keep your business but where does fast food really fit into your weight loss plan?</p><p>Let&#8217;s look at some top industry players and what they&#8217;re up to these days.</p><p>Subway: Possibly the first fast food chain to jump on the weight-loss wagon was Subway. In 1999 Jared Fogle, an unknown college student, became known as &#8220;The Subway Guy,&#8221; when he told us that eating Subway sandwiches helped him lose 245 pounds in a year- dropping from a whopping 425 pounds to a healthy 190 pounds. He tells the story of how his diet consisted of two meals per day: a turkey sub for lunch and a veggie sub for dinner. Subway&#8217;s menu continues to focus a number of its choices on low fat, low carbohydrate and other &#8216;healthier&#8217; choices.<br
/> McDonald&#8217;s has been modifying their menu ever since Wayne Spurlock created the Super Size Me documentary in 2004. In addition to a wider choice in salads and grilled chicken they added apple dippers and a fruit and yogurt parfait. They are even test-marketing a smaller version of the Big Mac in some areas.  Their website has a &#8220;Nutrition and Fitness&#8221; section for customizing healthy options to your needs.<br
/> Burger King has dished up some creative food, and is one of the first fast-food giants to offer a vegetarian option with their BK Veggie Burger. They recently added scaled-down items called BK Burger Shots and BK Breakfast Shots. Essentially they are smaller versions of Burger King&#8217;s standard burgers and breakfast sandwiches.<br
/> Jack In The Box is on the healthy bandwagon with their Healthy Dining Menu. Eight in ten of these menu items have less than 500 calories and 10 grams of fat per serving, in addition to mango smoothies and fruit cups. I see in the news that they have joined the movement and are testing Mini Sirloin burgers in San Diego.</p><p>You can see at a glance that the fast food industry provides options with lower calories and less fat and saturated fat. That&#8217;s a great start, but while calories and fat matter a great deal when trying to lose weight it&#8217;s also important to note that maintaining a healthy body requires adequate nutrition.</p><p>Unfortunately fast food menus lack much of the nutrition that is required for a healthy body. Fast food salads usually use iceberg lettuce, not the darker lettuces. Organic steamed or raw vegetables are non-existent. Most proteins come in the form of greasy burgers and fried chicken, rather than legumes, nuts, and fresh fish. Stripped down white bread replaces whole grains.</p><p>Our bodies are starved for nutrition, which causes our brain to tell us we&#8217;re hungry. If we fill up on empty, nutrition-lacking calories we aren&#8217;t feeding our body and our brain will continue to tell us we&#8217;re hungry. This is partly why you can eat a whole bag of potato chips and still be hungry.</p><p>Can you lose weight in fast-food restaurants? Absolutely. Jared proved it to us and now I see that a man in Virginia has lost 80 lbs. by eating nearly every meal at McDonald&#8217;s. Our bodies are designed to survive and are highly adaptable at doing so. Whether we are dieting or not, my biggest concern is that we have become too dependent on fast food and by doing so have lost our connection to our food. I suggest that if you want to lose weight and keep it off in the long run, keep your fast food meals to a minimum. I recommend that you focus on preparing fresh meals as often as you can and really feed your body. This will help you lose weight and keep it off!</p><ul

To make things worse, people that weigh so much that they cannot use indoor exercise machines without breaking them, rarely find any outdoor exercise or sports activity that they can pick up on.  Since it is so difficult to start exercising you way to a healthier you, I always suggest a combination of walking and weight training for exercise as optional, and working out a easy to follow weight loss food program as not negotiable.</p><p>Their are wonderful nutritional diets and there are those less balanced and then there are those I would never recommend.  Under all circumstances however you always have to consult your doctor as you have to be healthy before you start any diet and your doctor would know best as to whether your body would be able to cope with the specific foods and exercises that are listed within the specific slimming plan.</p><p>I like to recommend a pyramid of 3 basic rules for anyone that want to lose a few pounds or kilo&#8217;s.</p><p>But for the sake of keeping this short I will focus on the weight loss food program I want you to create for yourself.</p><p>First of all there are the foods you already eat which is most probably making you fat.  There are two ways to go about rectifying the problem here. </p><p>Change the type of food you and your family eat<br
/> Eat less than what you normally eat.</p><p>I always never recommend too much of a change to the foods you and your family are used to.  A diet is something only the cook has to know about.  A change in the normal eating habits of the household, could be disruptive as you may be met with negative responses that can make dieting harder to start than it already is.</p><p>On eating less I usually advise people not to eat smaller portions but to rather cut back on their fat intake by cutting off clear fatty strips from meats.  These adjustments should not be made as such that it will cause a stir &#8211; especially if everybody is used to the pork chop for lunch.  As you can shed pounds of fat without drastically changing your eating habits, take the above into consideration when you start out. </p><p>My advice for you is to write down what you normally would eat and declare that as your weight loss food program.</p><p>For the very first month I also suggest to not change anything that would make your situation uncomfortable. It is better to get your plan in action and follow it as a dieting action plan, even if you have the same calorie intake as before and even if you don&#8217;t do a bit of exercise, stick to your plan.</p><p>A balanced nutritional diet consisting of the 15 fat burning foods is extremely important. Although eating food that burn fat and doing special weight loss muscle gain weight training exercises that burn fat, is the fastest way to burn fat and lose weight, your decision to stick to healthy eating habits is much more important.</p><p>If you join a fitness and health club and you do the best exercise for building muscle, it would still be better to ask yourself the question &#8220;how much should I weigh&#8221;, and to then write down your own weight loss food program &#8211; even if your program at first only reflects your family&#8217;s current fattening food plan.</p><p>I always advise candidates to take their diet plan with them when they seek the advice of their doctor. He/she can then use it to refer you to a local qualified nutritionist as well as warn you of any possible dangers should you wish to change your eating habits after reading interesting health articles online. Go for regular checkups at your local medical facility in order to monitor your progress and your health. Many times you&#8217;ll know the basics of what you can eat, but you will get bored with the basics pretty quickly. This pushes the door wide open so temptation can waltz in a foil your plan -again!</p><p>This doesn&#8217;t have to be the case, and is one of the biggest reasons I advise people starting this diet to get a Raw Foods Cookbook to help them out. Here are two very easy recipes I&#8217;ve come to love to help you through your day.</p><p><b>Tomato Cups</b></p><p>3 medium tomatoes<br
/> 1/4 of a small cucumber<br
/> 1 stick celery<br
/> 1/2 of a small onion<br
/> 1/4 cup of fresh parsley<br
/> 1/2 tablespoon fresh mint<br
/> 1/2 clove garlic<br
/> 1/4 cup sesame seeds<br
/> 1 teaspoon lemon juice<br
/> 1/2 tablespoon olive oil (optional)<br
/> Sea salt to taste</p><p>Cut the tomatoes in half and scoop out center, leave about a fourth of an inch worth of wall.</p><p>Put the scooped out pulp in a bowl and set aside.</p><p>Finely chop (or use a food processor) all the other ingredients and put in the bowl with tomato pulp.</p><p>Mix well.</p><p>Fill the tomato halves slightly higher than the brim.</p><p>Makes 6 cups.</p><p>These are great for a snack, side dish, or anytime. You can even use smaller tomatoes to make them finger food. <img

/> 1 cup Raw Chocolate Nibs<br
/> 4 tablespoons of Agave Nectar<br
/> Sea Salt<br
/> 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon</p><p>Mix all the nuts and seeds in a large bowl.</p><p>Add agave nectar and stir well. Sprinkle cinnamon, chocolate, and desired sea salt amount and stir once more.</p><p>This takes only a few moments and can be eaten at breakfast, on the go, or even as a late night snack and I love the salty/sweet combination!</p><p>All it takes to ease into this diet is replacing your snacks with healthier choices like the salad above, and replacing one meal a day with a raw meal. There is no limit to the number of calories or the types of foods that are eaten. Sweets, cookies, ice cream, deep fried foods, etc are all acceptable foods. It is important that you &#8220;load&#8221; properly, this is a very critical part of the diet. Do not begin loading if you have not started taking the HCG Drops. It is common for people to gain 3-5 pounds in the first two days. Don&#8217;t worry, you will lose it all in the follow 48 hours. People that chose not to &#8220;load&#8221; properly have found that the rest of the unwanted weight does not drop as easily as those people who took the time to &#8220;load&#8221;.</p><p><strong><strong><strong>Food Plan For Weight Loss</strong></strong></strong></p><p>So, start your diet with a party and eat as much as you can!</p><p><strong>Sample Diet</strong> (after loading) Drink lots of water each day (at least 2 liters)</p><p><strong>Breakfast:</strong> Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. /> 1/2 t dill<br

/> 1/8 t cayenne or red pepper flakes<br

/> Briefly steam the green onions until tender.<br
/> Preheat saucepan over MED heat.<br
/> Chop steamed green onions.<br
/> In a saucepan, saute the green onions in a bit of vegetable broth for a couple of minutes, then add the parsley, zsweet, paprika, salt, dill, thyme, celery seed, and cayenne. Saute 1-2 mins more.<br
/> Add remaining vegetable broth, reduce heat, cover and simmer 20-30 mins.</p><p><strong>Lemon Pepper Fish</strong></p><p>100g whitefish<br
/> juice of half lemon<br
/> 1-3 cloves minced garlic<br
/> 1/2 t black pepper<br
/> 1/4 t salt<br
/> 1/4 t cumin powder<br
/> 1/8 t turmeric<br
/> Place fish in small bowl. Add garlic, black pepper, salt, cumin, and turmeric. Ensure to coat both sides.<br
/> Cover &amp; marinate at least 1 hour in refrigerator.<br
/> Preheat oven to 400.<br
/> Place the fish in a non-stick baking dish, &amp; cover with the marinade.<br
/> Bake 10-20 minutes depending on thickness, until fish easily flakes.<br
/> Squeeze with lemon juice.<br
/> Serve.</p><p><strong>Crockpot Swiss Steak</strong></p><p>100g steak<br
/> 1 T shake &#8216;n bake<br
/> 1 T liquid aminos<br
/> 3-4 cloves minced garlic<br
/> 1 stalk celery &#8211; sliced<br
/> 1 onion &#8211; sliced<br
/> 1 tomato &#8211; diced<br
/> 1/2-1 c beef broth<br
/> Preheat pan over MED-HI heat.<br
/> Sprinkle steak with liquid aminos.<br
/> Dip steak in shake &#8216;n bake, coating both sides.<br
/> Add steak to pan and brown on both sides.<br
/> Transfer steak to crockpot.<br
/> Cover with garlic, celery, onions, and diced tomato.<br
/> Top with beef broth. Don&#8217;t stir!<br
/> Cover and cook on low until reaches desired doneness.<br
/> When done, serve immediately, and cover with juices from crockpot.</p><p>NOTE: This dish includes 3 vegetables which are meant only for flavor. /> In bowl, mix eggs &amp; water. Add asparagus, minced onion, parsley, salt/pepper.<br
/> Pour egg mixture into non-stick baking dish (or dish lined with parchment paper).<br
